Note: We would like to have events on October 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 7th, 8th, 13th, 14th, 22nd, 27th, and 30th at the various ballparks involved.

We will keep watch of the seeding of course, and we ask our regional organizers to do the same.

If the season ended today the seeding would be:

National League Playoff Contenders:

Seeds 1 – 3 are the division leaders, seeds 4 & 5 are the wildcard teams, any lower seeded team has a chance of becoming the 4th or 5th seed.

1 – Los Angeles Dodgers (W) (103 – 56 as of September 26th)

2 – Atlanta Braves (E) (97 – 62)

3 – St. Louis (C) (90 – 69).  Could be wildcard or 2nd seed, depending on performance.

4 – Washington Nationals (E) – (90 – 69)

5 – Milwaukee Brewers (C) (89 – 70).  Could be NL Central Winner.

American League Playoff Contenders:

Seeds 1 – 3 are the division leaders, seeds 4 & 5 are the wildcard teams, any lower seeded team has a chance of becoming the 4th or 5th seed.

1 – Houston Astros (W) (104 – 54 as of August 26th)

2 – New York Yankees (E) (102 – 57)

3 – Minnesota Twins (C) (99 – 60)

4 – Oakland A’s (W) (95 – 63)

5 –  Tampa Bay Rays (E) (95 – 64)

6 – Cleveland Indians (C) – (93 – 65)

Which means, wildcard games would be:

NL Wildcard:

NL 5th Seed (currently Milwaukee Brewers at NL 4th Seed (currently Washington) on October 1st.  The winner of this game would be the visiting team in games 1, 2, and if needed 5th games against the NL 1 Seed (currently the Los Angeles Dodgers.)

AL Wildcard:

AL 5th Seed (currently Tampa Bay) at 4th Seed (currently Oakland on October 2nd.  The winner of this game would be the visiting team in games 1, 2, and if needed 5th games against the AL 1 Seed (currently the Houston Astros.)

Wild Card Games

Wednesday, October 2nd: AL Wild Card Game (5th Seed at 4th Seed) on ESPN.  Time TBA

National League Division Series:

Two series:

The teams with the two best records (NL 1 & NL 2 Seeds) will be considered the home teams in this divisional series.  Those teams will play in their respective home stadiums for games 1, 2, and (if necessary) game 5.  These teams will play at the stadiums of lower seeded teams (NL 3, 4/5 Seeds) for games 3 and (if necessary) 4 of the respective divisional round series.  All games will appear on TBS.  Those who go to the games to pass out flyers, please be there three hours before game time.

American League Division Series:

Two series:

National League Championship Series

The lowest seeded team will be considered the visiting team during the series (any team seeded 2 – 5).  The highest seeded team left will be considered the home team during the series (any team seeded 1 – 3).  This is a best of seven series, meaning games 1, 2, 6, and 7 are hosted at the higher seeded team’s ballpark, and games 3 – 5 are hosted at the lower seeded team’s ballpark.  First team to win four games wins the series.  Note: Games 5, 6, and 7 are if necessary. 

All games are on TBS.  All volunteers should be there three hours before game time.  We will not have any games at the highest seeded ballpark because of the schedule, but will have an event during the lower seeded home games (Games 3 – 5).

Games 1 & 2: Friday, October 11th, and Saturday, October 12th: 

Lower Seeded Team (Possibilities: NL 2nd – 5th Seeds) at Higher Seeded Team (Possibilities: NL 1st – 3rd Seeds, meaning Dodgers, Braves or Cubs in the NL).

Games 3, 4, 5: Monday (October 14), Tuesday (October 15th), Wednesday (October 16th): 

Higher Seeded Team (Possibilities: NL 1, 2, or 3 Seeds) at Lower Seeded Team (Possibilities: NL 2nd – 5th Seeds).

Games 6 & 7: Friday, October 18th, and Saturday, October 19th: 

Lower Seeded Team (Possibilities: NL 2nd – 5th Seeds) at Higher Seeded Team (Possibilities: NL 1st – 3rd Seeds).

American League Championship Series

Games 3, 4, 5: Tuesday (October 15th), Wednesday (October 16th), Thursday (October 17th): 

Higher Seeded Team (Possibilities: AL 1, 2, or 3 Seeds) at Lower Seeded Team (Possibilities: AL 2nd – 5th Seeds).

Games 6 & 7: Saturday, October 19th, and Sunday, October 20th: 

Lower Seeded Team (Possibilities: AL 2nd – 5th Seeds) at Higher Seeded Team (Possibilities: AL 1st – 3rd Seeds).

World Series:

Home field advantage will be determined by the team with better regular season record.  As of September 26th, the Houston Astros (AL West) has the best record, then the Los Angeles Dodgers (NL West), and the Yankees having the next best record.

Strike Out Targeting events (provided we have organizers) would be on:

  • October 22 (game 1),
  • October 27th (game 5),
  • October 30th (game 7),

If the two 1 Seeds play that would mean that the Los Angeles Dodgers would visit the Houston Astros for games 1, 2,  and if necessary, 6, and 7 in Houston while the Astros would play in Los Angeles for games 3, 4, and if necessary 5.  As usual, the games will be on the FOX Network.  Game time will be most likely at 8PM Eastern Time, no matter the venue, but officially the time is to be announced.  All volunteers would need to be there three hours before game time to pass out flyers.

Games 1 & 2: Tuesday (October 22nd) & Wednesday (October 23rd):
